Recorded live for TV broadcast throughout Britain, these historic performances have been unseen for nearly 40 years. Filmed with superb camera work and pristine sound, 14 complete performances and 4 bonus performances are included by Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters, Lonnie Johnson, Big Joe Williams, Lightnin' Hopkins, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Howlin' Wolf, Big Joe Turner, Junior Wells, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Between 1963 and 1966 huge British tours were undertaken by the likes of Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, Howlin' Wolf, and Junior Wells. This release in the American Folk-Blues Festivals gathers footage from these tours, providing an amazing document of a historic time.

Surement un des plus talentueux guitariste corse (hélas peu connu)PAUL (ou PAULO) CHIESA est le vrai créateur de cette magnifique valse "Il l'a créée à la demande de Henri Tomasi pour une scène du film "Ile d'amour" en 1944 avec Tino Rossi (voir et écouter la scène dans le café , c'est Paulo Chiesa lui même qui joue).A l'époque il ne l'a pas déposée et en 1957(ou environs) Bonelli et Baccara l'ont déposée à la sacem comme étant de leur composition!!!
Cela a permis qu'elle soit connue !
Il à composée aussi "la java d'amour" que Bonelli s'était injustement approprié sous le nom de "mazurka de sagone". Après procés ,Paulo est rentré dans ses droits.
Il a créé aussi "la java à la cigarette" que Quilicci a mis dans son disque "Les guitares à Paulo"sous le nom de "Mazurka de la Cigarette".Tout cela peut être vérifié auprès de la SACEM.Il à composé beaucoup d'autres morceaux dont un "ave maria" actuellement chanté par Antoine Ciosi , d'autres morceaux ont été interprétés par Charles Rocchi.
Django disait de lui qu'il n'avait jamais écouté un guitariste jouer aussi fin.
J'ai voulu réaliser cette audio vidéo en hommage à ce super guitariste hélas pas connu ;né à "Ile rousse" en corse et mort à Rodez (12) en 1984;Il fut un des tous premiers accompagnateur et ami de Tino Rossi.

 Another classic folk album very very pretty songs "this land is your land" reminded me to check if Country Joe's thinking of woody was up on here and lo and behold it wasn't so that's been cranked up on here also. I beg you if you like this check that out its one of my all time favourites. That being said back to PPM "moving" is one of their finest!

Alan Stivell biography
Born in 1944 in Gourin, Brittany, France, Alan Cochevelou was the son of Georges, who had re-discovered the Breton harp, and became a builder of said instrument. He gave Alan his first harp when Alan was only 9, and the boy was playing concerts before he reached his teens. He took an interest in pan-celtic music and became a professional musician at the age of 21. His adopted surname means "source". While he possesses a charming voice in Breton, French and English, his status as the savior of the Breton harp is unshakable. His willingness to explore the integration of the harp with other instruments and styles is what puts him in the same class as jazz greats who helped break down stylistic barriers and achieve recognition across the spectrum.

His first two recordings were done in the early 60s and eventually combined on one release. They represent the more "authentic" side, containg mostly well known traditional tunes played on solo harp. He did not release again until 1971 with the groundbreaking "Reflets" that introduced his endearingly languid vocal style to the richly plucked harp and set the groundwork for what was to come. He made the traditional his own and his own traditional. His most regarded early album is the instrumental work that summed up what his family had done from the perspective of the harp - "Renaissance de la Harpe Celtique" in 1972. Pre-dating the new age genre by over a decade, it simultaneously shows how beautiful that style could be when wedded to an ancient muse, and the degree to which so much new age music is superficial pseudo-intellectual doodling.
A succession of other accomplished albums followed in the 70s, such as "E Langonned" (1974) and "Journee a la Maison" (1978). He upped the ante with "Celtic Symphony" (1979), a heavily orchestrated affair that garnered mixed reviews and was nothing if not ambitious. Later albums that tend to receive accolades include "Mist of Avalon" (1991), Brian Boru" (1995) and even the more hi-tech "Explore" (2006). Over the years his output has been prolific - of course, as with any venerable artist, much overlap and many compilations and rereleases make it hard to discern the true output of the man. While he remains highly respected, his earlier work tends to remain the most recommended.
Through his nearly 50 year recording career, Stivell has never stayed still. While his explorations have not always been of interest to more dogmatic progressive fans, his tendency to shift gears and styles qualifies him for progressive archives, while his perennial roots make him a progressive folk natural.

    Thomas Alan Waits dit Tom Waits est un auteur-compositeur, musicien, chanteur, réalisateur musical et acteur américain né le 7 décembre 1949, à Pomona en Californie.
 Son travail se distingue par sa voix rocailleuse, sa forte personnalité, sa présence sur scène théâtrale et l'humour de mises en scène portées par des textes cyniques. Waits possède une voix reconnaissable, décrite un jour par un critique comme « trempée dans un fût de bourbon, séchée et fumée pendant quelques mois, puis sortie et renversée par une voiture »1. Avec des bruits de bouche comme signes distinctifs, il incorpore des styles antérieurs au rock comme le blues, le jazz, le bluegrass, le vaudeville ou la musique country. Ses textes sont ceux d'un portraitiste du bizarre, qui affectionne les personnages et les lieux délaissés. Son répertoire se distingue cependant aussi par son romantisme et sa drôlerie. Diverses interviews accordées tout au long de sa carrière témoignent de l'humour du chanteur2.
 Tom Waits est une influence majeure de plusieurs auteurs-compositeurs. Ses chansons ont parfois été rendues célèbres par certaines reprises, comme « Jersey Girl » par Bruce Springsteen et « Tom Traubert's Blues » par Rod Stewart. Bien que ses albums connaissent un succès mitigé aux États-Unis, ils ont parfois atteint le statut de disque d'or.
